Swedish casino company NetEnt invest heavily

The Swedish-based game company Net Entertainment has been very busy. On January 29, the Cherry companies (NetEnt and Betsson) bought the gaming company Coys. Coys brands includes Danmarksautomaten.com, Norgesautomaten.com and SverigeAutomaten.com.
In addition to the three major sites Coys owns 500 other domain names. Coys had at the end of last year 55 000 registered customers.
Cherry Corporate CEO Gunnar Lind says: This is a strategically important acquisition. We have access to established brands in the online gaming market and great opportunities to expand in both old and new geographies.
We also see the extension an opportunity to work with both land based casinos and online, and by combining the markets to create exciting new opportunities.
The cost will initially be 50-60 million, plus performance-based payments 3 years.

Italy Microgame new partner

The day after the takeover, on January 30, NetEnt signed a license deal with the largest Italian online gaming company, Microgame. Under the agreement, Microgame.it will use NetEnt as one of their largest gaming operators and provides Net Entertainment access to the huge Italian gaming market.
NetEnt CEO Johan Ohman says: Gambling is very big in Italy with a turnover of over € 17 billion in 2009. It makes the games market in Italy the third largest industry in the country.
With that in mind, it is of course very inspiring to one of their greatest players select Net Entertainment as their main partner for the supply of casino gaming.
