Black Jack
Black Jack is one of the most famous table games. It combines skill, luck and lots of excitement and is one of the few casino games where you can turn the odds in your favor. Black Jack is also called Blackjack, Vingt-et-un and 21. The player bets any amount in his collection box before a hand. There are usually limits both upward and downward. The dealer first gives out two cards to each player. And to himself, the dealer gives one card. Players may now choose whether they want to hit more (get more cards) or stop. Once players have chosen, the dealer draws the cards. The dealer must stand on 17 or higher and take cards if it is under 17. The dealer must stand even if he has for example an ace and a six, ie. 7 / 17.

Black Jack History

Black Jack originated in southern Europe and was called vingt-et-un (“twenty-one”) when it started up in France in the 1700s. The game is now spread all over the world and the French name was changed to Black Jack when it was first played in the U.S. around 1910. The name Black Jack comes from the casinos who during a period gave the players who had ace of spades or jack of spades in the starting hand a tenfold distribution of the winning. The big boom came in the 1930s, when casino gambling was legalized and Las Vegas boomed. Today Black Jack can be played at many nightclubs and restaurants in Sweden.

Black Jack Rules

The game is about getting as close to number 21 as possible without being “thick” ie getting over 21. You also have to get better cards than the dealer. All face cards are worth 10, Aces are 11 or 1. The player who gets 21 with his first two cards is called Black Jack, and gets one and a half times the bet, unless the dealer also gets Black Jack. If the player gets Black Jack, and the dealer has an Ace as his first card, the player can choose to take “even money” ie. Obtain profits equal to the effort. If both the player and the dealer has 17, 18 or 19 the dealer wins, if both the player and the dealer has 20 or 21 it will be equal, ie. no gain or loss for the player.

Double and Split

If the player has 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 on the initial deal, he can choose to double the bet. Then, the player puts in the same amount of chips that he had already invested in the box. When this is done, the player can only receive one more card. Is one of the cards an Ace, it counts as one. If the player has two cards of equal value, the player can split. Then he puts it in the same amount as the bet, and gets two hands of. These hands are played on as usual. If two aces is split you get only one card to each hand, except from when you get another ace, then you can select the split again. You can not double on a splitted hand.

You can not double a split hand.

Over and under

On some blackjack tables, there are over-and under-games. Then there are two rings in each box that says O (over) and U (under). If you bet in your money on under it is important that you get under 13 on the first two cards, if you get 13 or over 13 the dealer wins. Is it under 13 you win just as much as you have bet. In the over and under-game the Ace is counted as 1. If you get two aces and has invested in the under-box you win one and a half times the bet.
